Latour is Bordeaux's most powerful, uncompromising benchmark, made from deep-gravel vineyards in the great walled Enclos beside the Gironde. The 1995 comes from a very good, classic Pauillac vintage and is Cabernet-dominated in the estate's structure-focused style. Three decades on, it has shed its youthful armor and turned open and expressive, all cassis, cedar, tobacco and graphite over a still-dense, supple frame.
