Domaine Charvin is run by Laurent Charvin, the sixth generation of his family on the property, working roughly 8 hectares spread across three lieux-dits — Maucoil, Cabrières and L'Arnesque — in the cooler northwestern corner of the appellation near Mont-Redon (sand and galets, planted on cooler, often north-facing slopes) — a cooler, fresher site than most. The winemaking is old-school: no destemming to speak of, no new oak, concrete tanks, low intervention. 2016 was a benchmark modern CdP vintage — balanced, concentrated, built to age for decades — and nine years on, Charvin's 2016 is just stepping into its drinking window with the bulk of its life still ahead.
