Petit Maupertuis is one of the better addresses: a tiny plot on the Flagey side just below Grands Echezeaux, tucked against the wall, where older vines sit in a warm, sheltered microclimate. Benjamin Leroux draws from it a Clos de Vougeot with far more finesse than the vineyard's reputation for power would suggest. Farmed organically, made with a portion of whole clusters and aged in barrel, it's a refined, structured Pinot Noir built for the long haul.
