That Pomerol-adjacent terroir, sand and clay rich in iron, shows in the wine: it is Merlot-dominant (around 90%, with the balance Cabernet Franc) and built on plush, round fruit. A Grand Cru Classe since the original 1955 classification, the estate has been run since 1999 by Anabelle Cruse, the fourth generation of her family on the property. The 2019 is a generous, fruit-forward Right Bank vintage with ripe tannins. Approachable now with air, but it will reward a few years in the cellar.
