A charming, history-soaked Haut-Medoc from Chateau Larrivaux, an estate handed down the female line of the same family since 1580, one of the oldest continuous ownerships in the Medoc. It sits in Cissac, at the gates of Saint-Estephe, on gravelly soils, now overseen by Berengere Tesseron of the Lafon-Rochet family. The blend leads with Merlot (around 70%) over Cabernet Sauvignon, making it a softer, earlier-drinking claret. 2019 was an excellent Bordeaux vintage; this is approachable now and good for several years. A genuine value.
