Seves Vins, Bouzeron Les Corderes, 2024

Seves Vins, Bouzeron Les Corderes, 2024

Bouzeron is the only village in Burgundy with its own appellation for Aligote, which for decades made it the region's most interesting overlooked address. Seves is a brand-new answer to it: Marie Baltus and Foulques Bertholet met at viticulture school in Beaune, trained with a roll call of Aligote's true believers, and founded their own domaine in 2023 with a single parcel. That parcel is Les Corderes, 0.63 hectares planted in 1981 on stony clay-silt at the southeastern edge of the village. It is the highest vineyard in the appellation and it faces northwest, which in a warming Burgundy is starting to look less like a handicap and more like a head start. Aligote is having its moment; this is a first-vintages producer worth getting in on early.
