The clos sits on a rare clay-rich seam that produces a fuller, more structured wine than granite-based Fleurie, closer to Moulin-a-Vent. The Tardive comes from roughly 80-year-old vines and is built to be enjoyed later. The 2015 was a warm, ripe, concentrated vintage, giving a richer bottle that is drinking well now with room to keep.
